Im rigging up a little "fixture" to do some reprofiling.

Im thinking of using the Lansky Diamond Stones for the ability to remove steel quickly. I have never used Lansky's diamond hones. Are they of good quality? Do the Extra Coarse Stones work well for ease of quick metal removal?

Its either these or the DMT Aligner hones.

I rebevelled a ZDP-189 blade with the lansky diamond deluxe set. So, yes, it works!
But you have to buy two more stones than the ones included in the original set: the finishing ones (ultra fine with yellow handle, and polishing super sapphire with blue handle).

I've worn out two medium diamond stones after about 30 knives each, or so I'd guess. it is a rather small surface. just something to think about, how much are you going to be doing?
