I am having what I think is a weirdness. Have three of the Lansky Diamond stones that are labeled Coarse (Purple handle) Medium (Orange) and Fine (Tan)
Shouldn't coarse be the roughest Starter, then Medium, and then Fine???
What I am seeing is the Medium stone seems to be cutting more than the Coarse stone. Fine seems to be as I believe it should be.
I can even run a fingernail down the Medium and it feels dramatically rougher than the Coarse.
I mainly notice it when I am putting my edge on for the first time. I start with Coarse and when I go to Medium it just seems to bite more.
It doesn't seem possible that the stones could be reversed on the handles so am wondering if I have somehow jacked up the Medium stone?
Appreciate any thoughts/suggestions.
