I have the Whole diamond set. Which is what I would recommend, because you can easily get hair whittling edges on your knives. The EC is VERY course it takes off a lot of metal, but I feel as if the course cuts faster. I recently switched to Norton's stone oil, and it works EXTREMELY well with these stones removes swarf EXTREMELY quickly. Also, you can use Norton's stone oil as a lubricant for you knife it'll work better than normal Mineral oil since it's more refined.

I reprofiled my kabar d2 exreme with it (the diamond stone). Seemed like my recon scout took 2 seconds compared to that... havn't noticed any wear.
