Ok so I got an email from one of the internet knife stores I frequent and it had these on sale for $32. One hell of a deal. Really cool attractive looking knife. 12c27 steel, two different color g10 handles. Steel liners with liner lock. Not really a liner lock fan. I'd much rather have a steel frame lock if they don't want to splurge for TI. or even a good old backlock. Not really on par with the level of stuff I'm currently buying but I figured I've always liked the look of mikkel's knives and this one appealed to me so at $32 why not. It arrived and it's a very very nice knife for the money. Easily on par with other similar knives costing 4x as much. Only downside is there's a touch of blade play. And the detent is pretty weak. Anyone else have one? And is this the norm or should I send it to lansky and have them fix it? Here's the knife

Is that the X9 or the smaller Responder? I have the Responder and really like it. I've been carrying it about a week now... Guessing you got the X9 since it's a bit more than I paid for the Responder.

My detent is pretty good and no blade play in mine... a touch of blade play can be fixed by tightening the pivot a touch I bet... detent not sure so I can't really offer an opinion on sending it in or not, sorry to say.

Yeah I did tighten it up and it's much better at the cost of good flipping action. I've gotta flip the wrist where as I used to be able to push button it. It's too bad because if they ironed out those little issues this knife would easily be the best sub $40 knife out. Even with the little issues it's still a damn good deal and a beautiful blade.

Pretty much same as me, although occasionally I can do it without a wrist flick... even then, it just takes a very small flick, nothing super hard, so that's a plus. All in all decent, mid-range value I'd say, which is good... my yearly knife budget that I can allow myself is pretty microscopic compared to most here I'm guessing.

Well everyone starts somewhere. With me it was spyderco frn handles and buck 110s. Now it's hinderers, CRK, busse, strider, and the occasional custom. But that doesn't stop me from grabbing a lower end model if it appeals to me

Along with Kershaw, Spyderco is a favorite, and I have managed a small collection of 110s over the years, they're a really fun knife to collect given that the markings change each year and they're a quality knife for a low price point.
