I was sharpening my osprey for the first time and i ended up with like little under 3/16 on one side and a little under 1/8 on the other. That was with a corse diamond stone . then i went to a fine stone and it seemed to come out even on both sides . But now i have a uneven edge on one side . why did it do this ? Keep in mind i never took the knife from the clamp the whole time. I used the 25 degree slot . Its done this with other knives also .

It is possible that the knife was not straight in the clamp. Whenever I use my Lansky I always look down the blade lengthwise to make sure that it is not angled in the clamp. From experience I know that if the blade is even a little bit cocked or angled it will result in more stock coming off of one side than the other.

Its just funny that it only the corse stone that did it . I left the knife in the clamp and went to a fine stone and got the same angle on both sides .
