Lansky-Rebeveling an edge question

I'm re-beveling the edge on my ZT0550 in S35vn. The edge that was on it has dulled, and I like to re-bevel the edge with my lanksy before I put a microbevel on it. Doing the rebevel once and spending the time on it is a huge time saver when it comes to sharpening later down the road. So the length of the blade, before the belly, is of course getting closer to the edge of the bevel quicker than the belly and the tip. My question is this- should I keep sharpening the full length of the blade until the whole thing is redone? Even after the burr is formed on the straight part? Or should I concentrate on the belly and tip and keep them even with it before creating the burr. I'm worried that if I sharpen the whole length even after the burr is formed on one section, some sort of damage or un-evenness will occur.

You're better off focusing on the sections that need it; in other words, watch where the burr is (and isn't), and keep working on the sections where the burr hasn't formed. When you do eventually get a burr formed on all of the edge, then you can gently blend the sections together. If just continuing to grind away at the whole blade, too much steel will be removed from sections that don't need so much work. The Lansky hones are pretty small, and it's best to utilize them only where they're really needed. It'll save you a lot of time in the end, and will also preserve the working life of the hones.
