...Yeah the Lanski rig is fine. Actually.., I think all the similar sets-ups work well, and lots of guys like the Spyderco Sharpmaker 204 as you've probably seen. Edge-Pro.., and Gatco also make good sharpening systems.
There is a "Learning Curve" involved with any of these, and the Edge-Pro is pricey in comparison to others (but very good).
Let us know what you think, but I'm sure you'll find it pretty easy to use after doing some various knives. I think it's good to start practicing on Kitchen knives first.

I've found it hard to use, extremely hard to use, the spyderco sharpmaker is very good though. I would reccomend it over the
lansky any day.
