Hey yall,

I am struggling with free hand sharpening and am now considering a sharpening system. I read about the lansky on the forum and saw the mostly positive reviews. Also the price is very appealing. It will be used mainly on a SOG twitch xl tini and a SOG visionary 1. What do yall think of this system for keeping an edge on edc knives?

Thanks in advance

It's good but just don't think that it will require you to do little work. You come into problems with consistent angles, the rods bending, and consistent pressure. It is a great system and can put a razor sharp edge on a blade, you just have to get adjusted to it. Also, if you do pick it up, try cheaper knives first; I ended up immediately trying to sharpen my Manix 2 and messed up the edge. Thankfully I fixed it after I got better with the system, now it is wicked sharp and has a shallow relief edge.

Love the Lansky system.
It, like most things, requires some time spent learning how best to use it but once you develop the skill it does a great job.
I recommend the diamond, coarse and fine, hones. They make quick work of sharpening and especially reprofiling a blade.
