The Lansky rods are thinner than the KME rod so there will be some play and the alignment of the rod with the surface of the stone is different so you would have to compensate for that as well but it can work.
You need to mass produce this wicked lansky system lol...
I was wondering if the KME rod would fit the lansky. I suppose as long as I have an angle cube to tell me where I'm at I could use the lansky rod and just hold it up with my fingers on the back side of the ball... I want to use the sapphire stone... It just sounds cool. Lol
It does not fit the Lansky stones. I would have to measure it to be certain but by the looks of it, it has 4mm metric threads where as the Lansky holders have UNC No.10-24 threads.
You can of course make your own rod from a piece of 4mm rod and tapping UNC 10-24 threads on one end.
Another option would be to buy the KME translucent or black Arkansas stone which will give you a similar finish as the Lansky Sapphire.
