Lansky Stropping Hone. Anyone use one?

First off I apologize if this is in the wrong section but I though it would be a general type question.

I just recently got a lansky stropping hone to use in conjunction with my lansky diamond hone set. I have been using this set for several years now and have always been able to get my knives extremely sharp but I was looking to take them to the next level so to speak with a good stropping. I have tried to do free hand stropping before and I guess I just haven't put in enough practice time since my knives always seemed to come out duller than when I started.

My main question with the lansky strop is that I have used it and the edge seems to feel duller than when I started. It will still shave hair fine but it doesn't have that pop that I am looking for. I am using the green compound on it like I have seen many others use on their strops so I am a little confused. I figured since the hone is being held at the correct angle the whole time like a normal hone that I wouldn't be able to screw it up. :jerkit:

Am I doing something incorrectly and need to refine my skills or have I just never actually felt a properly stropped edge before?
