Lanyard bail

I have a newer Buck 110 that I drilled for a lanyard. However, the largest diameter hole i could drill was 7/64". It won't admit anything larger than seine twine, so I want to put a bail on it, such as a boy scout knife would have. Ideally, i would like to use a piece of 3/32" brass rod stock, but can't locate any. Any suggestions about what i can use in its place? i don't have metalworking tools beyond heavy duty wire cutters, a dremel, and pliers, so I can't anneal or temper anything. I've tried 1/16" brass (too soft), piece of a straightened wire coathanger (hard to work), straightened stainless keyrings, etc.
