Lanyard Beads

Thanks. The one with my name on it is a custom (obviously) from a friend and BladeForum member. I will let him pop in and take credit if he wants...I am not sure if he wants to make more of these or not, and out of respect to him...I will let him answer those questions (he is a busy guy). The takedown bead is also by the same gent and I am not sure exactly of the genesis (I know I had a conversation on this forum about making a similar bead/takedown tool, but I am not yet sure if this was built based on that conversation or if it just came from his own thoughts...it just showed up with the other bead when he sent it to me).

I had no intentions of creating chatter for him with this thread, but some others are obviously interested (I have received a few PMs already). My reason for sharing the images is to share my excitement for these pieces...they are really fantastic, and I like the way the comissioned bead turned out very much. It is massive, but deceptively light weight (it is some Titanium alloy that he has access to that is as hard as granite).

Thanks for looking, and hopefully more information will be forthcoming;)

I think that's the first time I've ever seen a personalized bead.
That is sweet, what material is it and who made it ????

I'm glad to see the long winding path has come to an end. :D:thumbup:

The wee tool things are something that have been making for a while, but that particular one was indeed made for you specifically. :)

I'm still not sure of the actuall alloy of that Ti, it has slightly different characteristics to 6Al4V. I suppose could be GR-38 alloy or similar. I keep forgetting to ask for the composition and what alloys "they" actually use......

Well, THANKS again. I really dig these and appreciate your care and attention to detail!

I am glad you found this thread too. I think a few guys were really curious who deserved credit for these, and now they know;)

Very nice job on the lanyard beads Haze.

Thanks Haze! They're one of my favorites.. It's also one made one of my favorite metals.. Zirc.

It's nice to see an expansion on the "standard" use of Titanium. There are many cool and very useable alloys out there. :)

Knockout job, Haze. You're quite the talented guy. Looks really good on your lanyards, unit! Nice to see the both of you around and posting cool stuff. Your beads are sweet as well, Z! I dig the combo on your raindrop CF.

I'm not one to "collect" lanyard adornments (likely because I'm just too poor!)..... but I do like the elk antler bead my buddy Steve made for me as a gift!

I always have a pile of "blanks" sitting about.....you have to do something with the scrap. :D
