I bought a 2008 Classic Small Sebenza and received it today. On the lanyard end of the knife, the lanyard has been removed. The back spacer with the blue anodized spacer is in the lanyard hole. The original lanyard was included in the package, with a spacer, with a hole drilled in it, with the lanyard running through this hole. I have looked at a lot of pictures on this site, and I do not see any with the lanyard attached to this spacer. They all have the cord run through the holes in the scales. Are there any advantages, or disadvantages to using, or not using the lanyard spacer? I am going to take the knife apart, and at least put the back spacer in the right hole. Would anyone know a reason why the back spacer was put in the lanyard hole? Thanks in advance.

An "advantage" of the lanyard bar is that you can remove the lanyard without untying it. Of course you will have to disassemble the knife for that though. Also, the lanyard can move/swivel around more freely when the lanyard bar is used. That are the two main differences that I can think of right now..... .
