Lanyard For A Curtiss F3

I would like to put a lanyard on my Curtiss F3 but it just has a real small square hole. I was wondering what would go through this small hole?

I'm not familiar with the f3 but there are several sizes of paracord, including some which are quite small. Just search the web. You can get cord diameters.

You can also pull out the inner strands of the paracord which should make it smaller
