does anybody carry their ar on a lanyard? just wondering, with the price tag someone might carry this way as it might pop out during vigorous activity.

my kershaw came out twice. once i noticed and the other someone pointed it out.

i dont have a lanyard on my AR but im always pulling other crap outta my pocket and rubbing up against it, it aint goin NOWHERE unless you want it to:)

im that way too sometimes about knives, but once i got my AR it went right into my pocket and has been my EDC since.

MY other EDC is an MSC SLCC, those two have been my constant companions for about a month now.:D

Don't have an AR but I carry my Strider/Buck folder on a lanyard looped around a belt or belt loop. I do this because I lost a little $40 Gerber knife that was just clipped in a pocket. It fell out somewhere on the side of a mountain during a rescue and I never had the time or energy to go back for it. It sucks losing a $40 knife let alone something that cost 9x as much.

I too once lost a knife in pretty much the same way, and ever since I've had a dislike of pocket clips.

I carry my EDC Strider/Buck Tanto in the SOE pouch, which has worked fine thus far. However, I carried the knife for quite a while before I got the pouch and removed the clip so I could comfortably carry it in the pocket of my jeans and cancel out the risk of losing it.

Since the Strider folders are significanlty bulkier than the Strider/Bucks, I doubt you'd ever be able to lose it if you keep it in your pocket. I know my Strider/Buck is bulky enough for me to hang upside down or what-have-you without it ever falling out. Or, better yet, get one of those fine SOE pouches.

i'll see how the clip works and decide if i need a lanyard. i have to find somebody that has them in stock first, everyone is out so far.

Tom,

I've carried a large cariety of clip knives over the years and the only ones that have come out have either been due to a weak clip or to my moving in such a way as to force the knife out of my pocket. The stiff clip coupled with the weight of the Strider (I've got a GB) will not allow this thing to accidentally come out. As long as your pocket is deep enough and it's close to the outside edge of your body (unless it's in a back pocket) it's likely to stay put until you want it out. Otherwise get one of Striders kydex sheaths. They're really cool and it definately won't come out until you want it.
