How can I learn to tie this type of lanyard, the top one with the bead, can you point me to a video or tutorial?

My daughter and I bought paracord and made amazing survival bracelets today that are secured with the diamond knot, but I just can't figure out how to make this style. I also bought a bead and want to be able to change things up on the Sebenzas, thanks!

:( :( I can't get paracord through the bead, the knife grommet part, of my small. Any advice?

I cut the power cord on an angle and melt the end a little bit. It might take a few try's to get non gutted cord through but you'll get it eventually.

I have found very little in this life that cannot be accomplished with ingenuity, perseverence, and a selection of high explosives. You can do it!

Here's a technique that many folks use to get paracord through small holes. Pull an inch or so of all the inner strands out of the end of the length of paracord, cut the inch of inner threads off, then smooth out the empty paracord end. Then cut the gutted cord at an angle, as recommended in another post. Use caution completing the next part, because burnt paracord is very hot! Take a lighter and burn the end until you see a very small bead of melted cord (then quickly close the lighter), wet your forefinger and thumb and quickly pinch the burnt end and draw it out. Pinch and pull quickly because it is hot! This forms a thinner, hard paracord end that will more easily fit through a small hole. Twisting the end as you thread it through helps too. After I get the end through and tie the lanyard, I create a nicer looking end by cutting the empty burnt end off and re-burning the end.

Alternatively, you can thread a thin wire through the hole, then form a hook with the wire, hook the paracord onto the wire, then pull the wire and cord back through the hole. It helps if you first gutt the portion of paracord that is hooked on the bent wire. I find this technique harder, but then again, you don't have to touch hot paracord!

Please use caution, and good luck! Post a picture of your results if you get a chance. Me like pictures! ;)

I angled the cut, burned my thumb a bit, pulled like heck with a needlenose pliers, and got it done! The bead was easier but also not a walk in the park. It's a silver trollbead "waves".
