I remember seeing an article in a magazine where a lanyard was placed towards the front of the handle near the choil not in the back where most lanyards are placed, but i cant rememebr the grip method using this technique. can anyone point me out in the right direction? thanks

The article was in Knives Illustrated current issue I believe. The hole was in the front of the handle. You can attach a lanyard on the front of a knife without a hole. If it has a choil that makes it easier but it can be done without one just by looping the cord around the ricasso in front of the scales. This is how I attach mine on my knife that has a choil. The cord goes over the top of your hand, under your little finger and thumb.
