lanyard on a mnandi?

Ive been thinking about getting a mnandi ever since i picked up a small sebenza a few weeks ago for edc, but now that ive taken a closer look at it, i was wondering if it would be at all possible to tie a lanyard on it, obviously theyre's no hole, but would i be able to tie one to the rear spacer without getting in the way of the blade?

Looking at my Mnandi, I don't think there's room for a lanyard between the blade tip and the back spacer. You could tie it to the clip, but that would be less than ideal.

I thought about this, one way would be to attach a strong thin cord to the back spacer. There is a tiny bit a clearance between the blade and the back spacer. Another, and the best way would be to make a custom back spacer. But you'd have to index it to the hole so it doesn't rotate around and touch the blade.

we've used thin leather lacing. my wife and daughters have been stayed tied up for years.

I've tried it with square knot lanyards, small ones, it doesn't feel right. Was going to try a leather thong on mine, but I traded it. I would think that maybe a small leather lanyard might look ok and work, but paracord is definitely wrong for it.
