What do you do for a lanyard on a Ka-Bar fighting knife? Do you just tie something at the back of the grip?

You can't really drill that big hole through the handle because you risk both the handle and the tang. I guess you could do some sort of holl to the buttcap but I think that wouldn't look good. Why would you need lanyard for this sized knife?

You could always pop a hold in the guard and put a lanyard through it. I think that would be the easiest way.

sure some para-cord could be looped around the pommel.
but then i guess that's why the next-gen ka-bar comes with a pommel drilled out with a lanyard hole.

A laynard on a fighting knife is not something you want. Think about it....... your stickin zombie's and one happens to knock it from your grip. Normally it would have fell harmlessly to the ground and you could pull out your shotgun to finish the job but not this time because its attached to you. So now the knife instead of falling away comes swinging around and stabs you in the leg and this is where things get real bad. Now your infected and before your new found friends are done eating your brain you turn into a zombie yourself.

Explain that to the wife! :)

The next-gen ka-bars have lanyard holes in handle. Unfortunately, the older designs don't. But modifying the guard, as previously mentioned, is your best bet.

Actually, I think his best bet would be to buy another knife with a lanyard hole in it already, like the next gen Ka-Bar or any number of other options.
