I would like to tie a nice lanyard onto my benchmite but i have no idea how to or where to go for directions. I have searched the internet and on here but can't find what im looking for.

This is called the "Reeves Coil Knot" at this site.... but I always knew it as the standard "hangman's noose".

Some guys I've seen will just thread a nice piece of leather or paracord through the lanyard hole, pull the two ends even, hold them together, and tie a knot. I've tried it once on a knife and I didn;t care for it much.

Just about every knife I have has a lanyard with this reeves coil knot on it. I mostly use paracord, but recently I found a nice piece of waxed cordage.... might be leather... I can't really tell. It's 3mm thick so it's thinner by far than paracord. Makes a beautiful noose and doesn;t hang as loose as paracord.
