Lanyard on Spyderco Air?

Any Air owners that can advise on this question would be appreciated:
Is there room to attach a lanyard to the last stand-off on the spine of the Air handle, without contacting the blade?

I would use either typical 550 paracord, or more likely the the thinner 2mm type I micro paracord (100 pound strength).

Does anyone have pictures of the Air handle spine, showing blade clearance with stand-off?

Thanks!

If you're going to do a lanyard I would suggest the micro paracord. When I had my Air, I wanted a lanyard on it badly, 550 paracord contacted the blade, even when gutted.
If the Micro Paracord contacts the blade, gut it, it should do fine, but I wouldn't even mess with trying the 550 Paracord.

Looks like it doesn't work very well. I tried with a thin type-1 cord, and the blade sinks into the cord about a millimeter or two. After opening the blade a couple times, I can tell the cord won't last long.

Here's my best try at a macro shot. You can already see where the cord has been cut:

Thank you much Nafunu . I would say a lanyard is a no-go on the Air. I prefer to use the type I cord without gutting it, so your info & picture really helps.

Yeah a lanyard pretty much won't work unless you use some kind of that thin crafting cord and use it.
But if you did decide to gut the type 1 paracord, it would likely work best that way, because you would lose a few millimeters in thickness, so the blade would not hit the cord.

That's what I'd do if you really just want a lanyard on it.

Maybe try a thinner cord made of cut resistant material, they have spectra cords for backpacking and stuff that might work.
