Hey all
I am considering buying a Sebenza large 21 soon and I have one question about the knife. If you take the lanyard off the knife, will the lanyard pin fall out? if not, will it rattle or be loose in the knife? Thanks for answering my two questions.

Yes it will fall out...however there are a couple of options to keep it in place without rattling...
One is to use a couple of tight fitting o rings on the pin...
Another option is a small piece of paracord with ends burnt...

Nice ones in your sig line..! What model is the first one?

Yes, many methods listed in this forum. I took my pin to the hardware store and fitted with a rubber o-ring that keeps it well in place. Pretty easy fix...;-)

That is a novel idea. So the o-ring just goes around the barrel of the pin between the slabs to keep it from sliding out?

On my small I took the cord off but left the pin in. On my large I took the whole thing out but wouldn't mind the flash of blue in there sans cord. I wasn't crazy about some of the other methods of holding it in but that seems fairly elegant.

Yes, I have seen my friend Tuica's 21. Just pushed the pin through the side, and the o ring (more of a flat, thick rubber seal), then on

Kind of the reverse of this . . .

my "new to me" large Sebenza (2006) came without a lanyard and no lanyard pin. I have contacted CRK and they should be sending me both. Is installing this simple and straightforward? Or are there "tricks" I need to know?

You should be able to figure it out. If you want to disassemble to insert, please check youtube vids showing this...;-)

No tricks, just take a slab off, set it in the hole and put the slab back on. I cut a small piece of the cord abs burned the ends, mushing then over flat. You can't see the cord abs it keeps it centered abs not rattling.

Can also use electrical heat shrink tubing cut to size. The tubes also comes in variety of colours too.

I was going to do that, but the way I did it just filled the hole in the pin, so I didn't lose any of the blue color. Looks like a black hole through it is all.

Yes, good to keep the blue, if possible. Ideally would prefer to find (where?) a blue nut and bolt with heads just slightly larger than the pin hole. But now I'm getting obsessive...;-)
