Recently I have found myself in a serious Victorinox Alox collecting binge! I have allways enjoyed a good Vic but I recently began to really like them! I think because I was making a slipjoint one day a few weeks ago and used a SAK for something and realized How amazing it is that Victorinox can make such great operating knives in such amazing numbers! Anyway, about my new collection. I find I only want knives with lanyard rings. Why? I don't know but it just seems like it's important!

I would realy like some of the patterns out there but they don't have lanyard rings so I guess I will have to mod them.

Does anyone else feel a lanyard ring is so Important?

I like the lanyard rings. I do a lot of boating on the local rivers and Chesapeake bay, and I once lost a knife over board because it wasn't attached. If I'm going anywhere near the water, I want a lanyard on my knife!

I love having lanyards on my knives and multi tools.

Notice any lanyards? :D

I use lanyards mainly during outdoor activities. When hiking or canoeing I don't want to lose my knife and other tools. And of course there's the little SAK on my keyring, which wouldn't be there without the lanyard ring.

I am about the same as the others. I kayak and canoe and want that knife secured on to my person or gear and a lanyard is a really good way to do that. They help plenty when using a machete etc too.

Big fan of bails, attachment rings, or hollow rivets/lanyard holes. Obviously helps prevent loss, but I like knives with this feature a lot anyway. When not using a true "safety" lanyard, I like putting a large split ring or leather loop/fob/thing on to loop around some fingers, not sure why.

Peace
Out
Fred
