Lanyard tube sliding out on Military?

Just recently got a new left-handed military a few weeks back. Blade was off-center so had to send it back. Now, the lanyard tube is sliding out, allowing the backspacer to slide out completely. Is this normal? How would you recommend I fix this? Send it back again? Small amount of Loctite or worse case and not my preference - superglue?

Thanks, guys. I would appreciate any help.

well...ive never heard of a nasty prollem like that with the military...but personally i would send it back 10 times before i put super glue on it!

Had the same problem with a Millie that fell on tiles floor, and on a Para I bought used.

Hammer the lanyard tube back into shape, and it will retain it's position. What I used was a philips screwdriver, because of the tappering, with the knife laid down on it's side. A few taps from each side, and that was it.

Yes, Spyderco should totally re-engineer this issue.

Thank you for your replies Joshth09 and Crocodilo. I appreciate it. Looks like it will be taking another trip back to Golden.

It sounds like they maybe forgot to reflare the ends of your lanyard tube after they put your knife back together. If that is the case, W&R needs to know about it. You can probably reflare that tube by yourself.

My Mili's lanyard tube has just a little rattle. Was thinking of flaring it with some kind of flaring punch. Glad I saw this thread.

My only Millie, so far, is an old two-screw clipped CPM440V blade model. So far, after nearly 15 years of use, the lanyard tube is still in place.

I have a titanium handled version on order from the Cutlery Shoppe.

Had the same thing with my new Superhawk. Did the recommended couple of taps with a phillips screwdriver on each side and it tightened right up. No more annoying little rattle.

Thanks guys, I appreciate all your input. I decided to send my Mili back to Golden. Charlynn has been great and very understanding.
