I often see alot of great lanyads on the site and was wondering how to go about learning how to make them.

My son and daughter also are intrested and currently the do a few simple braids with the thin plastic cords.

I did pick up a couple of humdred feet of 550 cord. But need a starting point.

My son wants to go in the direction of survival type bracelet and my daughter wants to do more of the Key fobs.

I was wondering if some could recommend a book or a web site

Thanks

YouTube. TIAT (tying it all together) has a great channel on tying tons of decorative knots, fobs, etc. There are a lot of videos on YT, but TIAT vids are very clear and easy to follow. Also check out "Stormdrane" blog. He has a great blog with all of his knotting projects, as well as a list of links to other knotting related sites. There is more than enough info there to keep you very busy.

Just go buy a copy of "The Ashley's Book of Knots" it will have everything you need in it. Though it can be hard to follow at first.

ABOK is a great book with some great historical drawings and explanations

I spent an hour or so at the library perusing the ABOK. Fascinating!

Yes, I have had mine since I was a young boy scout. It is one of the essential books for a man's library in my opinion.
