Lanyards and Spyderco

Good looking lanyards. I wish I had that talent!

It's really not hard at all. Look on YouTube and you will find tons of step by step tutorials. I have lanyards on all my knives and my edc flashlights. They not only look good but they make it much easier to pull the knife/light out of the pocket. Especially helps with control and retention on the smaller knives and lights. Much harder to loose control and drop them with a lanyard on them. It can also be very therapeutic making them. My advice would be to go get some paracord at Walmart or any local hardware store and just start paracticing. You will probably end up having trouble with the first couple but you will get the hang of it. Also if you don't want to spend the money on all those expensive beads you can use a stainless steel bolt. Just pick the right size to be able to fit the cord thru and they actually look pretty cool. Also helps the lanyard hang lower out of the pocket so it sits against your leg instead of sticking straight out. Good luck.

Personally, I deep pocket carry and don't use lanyards, but this thread is starting to change my mind about it...

these days i make leather hang-mans for most all my spyderco's! something about the way the leather ages and looks after you carry/handle it for about a month or so,because i use deep carry pocket clips, these lanyards really help me pull my folder out of pocket, thats the way i use them.

I have a local store where I can buy 100 feet of parachord for $8

Youtube.com "braiding parachord"

I just put 60 ft of blue parachord into a horse breast collar.. goes across their chest to keep the saddle in place on steep hills. That was my 2nd attempt at ever braiding parachord.. aka it's EASY! :)

I just made one this week to see how I like it. It's not difficult at all.
