Lanyards for Douk-Douk!

Hey all! I made a couple simple lanyards for my Douk-Douk, both small and medium sized:

Had some paracord laying around and gutted it, tied some double knots and they turned out pretty well! Those bails were just BEGGING for a lanyard!! These are great knives and I’ve been using the larger one every day and it’s been a nice work knife. I also have a German made Mercator K55K black cat knife coming from Amazon Prime and will probably add a lanyard to it as well, most likely with the leftover coyote tan paracord I got on deployment in Afghanistan.

I did pretty much the same with the one I had. It makes a good emergency one hand opener too. Clutch the lanyard in your teeth and use one hand to pull the blade open.

That’s a good idea, never thought of that! I also was thinking they’d be good for slipping around the finger when cutting something in a tight area like inside a wall or when up on a ladder etc. where dropping the knife would be really bad!

I used a piece of old leather bootlace I had laying around. I was going to use paracord but an old piece of leather seemed more fitting.

Fobs can be very practical for fishing a knife out of a pocket. Also good for securing a knife with a finger through the loop, as others have mentioned.
