I seem to like a lanyard hole in the handle but I don't keep an lanyard on any of my knives.Maybe I just like knowing that it is there in case a situation where a lanyard is needed presents itself.

Anybody else not use lanyards but like a handle drilled for one just in case?

I never cared for lanyards until I recently started tying lanyards. Still, not every knife needs a lanyard and quite frankly, gets in the way of deployment. It really depends on the knife. To answer your query though, yes I want lanyard holes because I like options

I like the holes just because you might like one someday in my edc blades I do not use a lanyard.
But some of my camp knives have especially the Choppers.

I like the option of having a lanyard hole just in case I might need to use it to secure the knife to equipment, make a short lanyard to be able to grab the knife quicker out of a pocket. Or, best of all... lash my knife to a tree limb and make a "mall ninja" spear! ;)

I like a knife to have the lanyard hole, but I don't put lanyards on my knives. I do keep some cordage (often leather shoe lace and 550 paracord) in my day pack, so if I need to attach some some cordage in the field, I have the means. I think lanyards just get in the way.

I read on some other forums that most lanyards that people have are called fobs, which are the short ones with the skull beads on it (just an example). I don't know if those are the ones you're talking about, but I do have two knives with those just for looks. My every day activities don't require fast opening knife action or anything, so the fobs don't really get in my way.

Only problem with this is that if you want to take off a fob and put it on another knife, you'll have to untie the whole thing and tie it on a new knife...unless you use a keychain.
