Lanyards?

So, I have some new Busse INFI in the house (actually my first Busses!) and I'd like lanyards on each of them. I'm not looking for 'decorative' lanyards, but functional ones that will stop me from droppin' my expensive steel in the river...

Any suggestions?

BTW - I will post pics of the new Busses some time this week :D

Regards,

Tim

Sweet - thanks for the advice. I went to BCS to buy some and the international shipping was $39.00!! For $15.00 worth of lanyards

So, I have a note in with customer service... hopefully I can get a more reasonable shipping rate to Canuck land :D

I've been doing some 6 strand flat, round and square braiding with some mini 550 lately, it is looking pretty good. Diameter of the new stuff looks to be about a third of the standard, but man is it strong!

Gonna make some lanyards and maybe a braided sheath??!!! with the stuff one of these days. Should be interesting.

just google "lanyards" and/or "paracord". start following the links and you'll find out more than you ever thought you would want to know about lanyard making.

I just made this D-guard with a coil knot lanyard for my BAIII this evening. It only took about 1/2 an hour & about 10' of para-cord.

Now I need to make one for my newly acquired CGFBM.....:D

I like functional loop lanyards on my Wardens, whereas on small folders I like fobs to aid pulling them from the waistband or pocket.

The following two GWs have the same basic lanyard consisting of a "lanyard knot" and a black plastic spacer to create the loop, or two strands (to keep a loop from catching on things) depending on whether the spacer is slid up or down, and two simple overhand knots at the bottoms of the strands so the spacer doesn't walk away.

This lanyard is made of 550 paracord.

This following lanyard is made of PMI Niteline which glows in the dark and has a strand of reflective material...it's very cool.

Or you could use a D-Guard on your wee little Warden for a positive grip...though I personally think it's too clunky. The below knife is the same as above, which is currently in the above configuration.

Mike, I'm loving the "wilderness style" (thanks Akabu and RokJok: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=395370&highlight=lanyard+knots), I recently figured out how to do a adjustable lanyard with some knots I've been making. Which can also work wilderness style. While not as long as a regular, but long enough to slip your pinky in.

Here's a great post my Esav on knot resources.

I recomend learning to make you own (teach a man to Fish ...), but if you don't want to or have the time you can always buy them pre-made one. There are lots of good people out there.

Disclamer: I make and sell lanyards.

Hey Saberman, you must be over on EDCForums too...I think I recognize that knife/lanyard pic.

Yea, that's me. I started over here, but use my last name everywhere else. Someday I'll switch.
