I had a scrap of 0.207" CPM 3V and made a little lapel dagger.
It is 3.75" OAL and 1.5" blade. 60 hardness (I threw it in with my last batch to Peters).
The jimping goes around three sides (edges and back) and I put a thumb button with a ball mill.
It was fun to make and quick to grind.
It's actually very sharp as I did the final bevels at 25 degrees on my Wicked edge.
I'm not sure what to do about a sheath or holder.

Nice. I have a bunch of scrap pieces of 3V I was thinking of doing something very similar based off someone else’s lapel dagger.

I will likely make some small slip covers for the blades out of kydex for mine.

I also saw someone making some small blades epoxied into handles for use as marking knives. I have some small pieces of 10V I may try that out with.

Sounds good. Please post a pic of the kydex if you do that. I assumed that kydex might be too oversized for this. I might try leather or even denim.

With this small of a blade my hunch is that a thinner piece of kydex if folded over taco style from the bottom or side would be tight enough you might not really need rivets. If so the kydex could be kept very small.

That looks awesome! It’s nice to see some effort in this one compared to some other scrap piece knives I’ve seen.

I put pieces of scrap off to the side and almost always come up with some sort of design, either a scalpel or a partial tang. Love the old OSS designs!

I do sheaths for my birudashi like this. The thumb divot will be a nice retention feature. Small ones get one grommet, full-size gets two:

Nice, yes I think the thumb button would work well with kydex. In the end I went the deluxe leather route and had one made by Paul Long.

The OSS during WWII made Similar lapel daggers for plainclothes agents behind the lines......——————————I like it!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:——————————— Perhaps use a couple of small rare earth magnets in the leather to hold.
