Hi. I recently picked up the Naniwa Aotoshi 2K Green Brick. This media is new to me. I'll need to lap it. What does the 2K represent? Is that the grit? If so, is that spec specific to Naniwa, or is it a universally recognized standard measurement? I'll be using sharpening media from different manufacturers during progressions.

I need to know if I can use a used DMT red to lap the Green Brick?

I also picked up an Atoma 140 to lap a different much coarser stone. When I think about possibly lapping the Green Brick with the Atoma, it seems the spread in grits is too large, it might cut lines into the Green brick? I don't want to find out the hard way.

Any advice? Thanks in advance.

I would use the atoma to get it flat. Then some wet dry sandpaper to smooth it out to whatever pleases you. Imo I wouldnt go higher than 320. But that's your call.
