I really dont need to flatten my pocket translucent stone, but it has lost its bite and its glazed. I tried using the fine side of a Norton sic stone, it seems to polish it further. What is the best loose grit in Sic carbide to refresh my stone?

If you have the coarse I'd try that. Then only a little with the fine. Then just rinse and start working your knife on it and break
it in. It should have some bite. Those were never meant to have much. DM

I like to use a DMT diamond stone. Does not need to be very large in size.
Same with ceramic fine stones when they loose bite.
Mineral oil with frequent wipe and reapplication helps greatly to minimize glazing.
