Laptop replacement screen?

Sunday night, my 2 year old grandson threw a ping pong paddle and hit the screen on my new laptop(maybe 8 months old). Screen is ruined. Looks like a spiderweb cracked windshield when turned on. Got a rough quote from the geeks at BestBuy, but I don't really trust their diagnosis for some reason. Any idea what I'm realistically looking at to replace the screen on an HP 14" LED backlit laptop? FYI, here's the exact laptop in question.

My Great Dane stomped the screen of my Dell Inspiron 1318 (15 inch) and it spiderwebbed the same way you described.
Cost me about 300 total...not bad compared to what I expected.
