Good Evening All - I rec'd by Hack from the recent LargoGonza and it is magnetic. Can any of you tell me why this would be?

All of my Wardens were magnetic also. I assumed it was just part of the magical way of INFI when sharpened.
 
don't put it on top of the computer, hard drive that is, that is cool though, just think what you could do if you drop a hanger behind the washer or dryer...

Most likely defective. If you would like you can send it to me and I'll inspect it free of charge and dispose of it properly for you.
 
I don't know the Why, but it is not uncommon:thumbup:
Could be the transverse wave tempering?:confused:
 
I've seen it in non-busse knives too - many folks use large magnets to hold blades in place while they are being ground. It's not outrageous to believe that knives could become magnetized during that process.

by the way my girl here, after watching me do this, officially thinks this forum has made me crazy.
 
Even without using magnets to hold the blade during grinding, the grinding process itself seems to induce magnetism into ferrous metals.

Don't know why, I am sure there is a scientific explanation for it though.

Maybe it is induced by the Magnetic hold downs on a surface grinder or somesuch?

Not outrageous at all.

A strong enough magnetic field would align any magnetic domains present in the knife's crystalline structure. This often produces permanent magnetization.

Appropriate heating, sometimes combined with shock, is usually sufficient to de-magnetize it.

I wouldn't do that, though. What would be the point? A magnetized knife doesn't bother me.:D

Does this mean the NMFBMLE and skinny ASH are duds????:D
 
I am with Bravado on this one. It is totally FAKE.

Send it to me for a proper disposal immediately before it will infect anymore INFI. :D
