Anyone else noticed Knifecenter has their 3V Laredos handles listed as Micarta, Amazon as g10 and Midway as Griv-EX/grivory?

Direct from Cold Steel's own website.

The rich black linen Micarta handle is as tough as it is beautiful. It is specially contoured to fit the hand like a glove and to provide a positive grip when cutting, chopping, or thrusting.

Each Laredo Bowie is supplied with a Secure-Ex sheath to protect the blade and allow you to wear it safely and securely on your side always ready to defend you and your loved ones.

Yep, first thing I did was think “hmm wonder what caused a change in handle and went over to Cold Steels’s page. Still Micarta like I had always seen, heard and same in reviews etc and it was same on their page. Which then left me curious as to why two massive retailers both listed something else and wondered if they both just got it wrong or Cold Steel/GSM was changing it.

I know that video well. Probably watched most of Lynn’s and Cold Steel’s product videos.

If it was just Amazon getting it wrong, I would have just shrugged it off but Midway tends to be more precise (at least in my dealing with them) so I figured I would ask to see if anyone knew anything more that I did about it. It is an odd curiosity that two large sites (maybe more, haven’t looked) list it wrong.

It might just be the sets of incoming reviews/posts/etc that I have read over the years but that is usually the number one thing I hear about the Natchez and Laredo is they wish it had a better sheath.

Check it out at 2:04 where he discusses the handle materials!
With it at least possible that they moved to G10 and that some Laredos had previously been made in it, I suppose it isn’t out of the realm of possibility that some even more recently were made out of grivory Griv-EX. Which if that is the case that means all three websites could be correct with possibly the handle material listed just reflecting the age of their in stock knives.
