Just after Christmas I picked up a forge from Diamondback Ironworks. I am very impressed with the thing so far. This is one of the knives out of that forge. I used to do a lot of stock removal, but I cant seem to keep a hammer off of the steel anymore.

I took a shot at a more decorative sheath, and I really like the results. Some markings on the sheath are supposed to coincide with the forged finish on the knife flats. I even took a crack at a lizard skin inlay, and think it turned out well.

I am contemplating keeping this one, but it will probably go up for sale tomorrow if my wife has anything to do with it.

Let me know what you think.

Now THAT is a blade of beauty....I might have to sell my Chopper to fund this one if your wife makes you sell it!!!! (I am with her on this!!)

The total package in one lovely package :D

I'm guessing most knifemaker's wives are the same? That's lovely honey, now put it up for sale so you pay for the supplies, the laundry soap for the stinky shop clothes and the carpet cleaning where you didn't take your shop boots off and the new couch covers where you sat down before changing. :p

Thanks everyone.
The filework is filled in with the epoxy, then sanded flat.

My wife is pretty understanding about the whole knife thing. She has requested that I dont throw my work clothes in with the other dirty clothes, because something about the steel shavings leaving rust spots on her whites.

I really like the looks of that knife and that sheath just blows me away. As my son would say, “looks like it was bought from the store”. (That’s suppose to be a compliment).

Matt I didn't know you were on these forums! that sheath work is EXCELLENT!

Beautiful knife. Your wife will win. Just how it goes for us knifemakers. Hurts less if you don't fight it!!

lovely! I really like this one a ton (not that I don't usually love every other one you make).

What wood did you use for the handle? The sheath, wood and blade finish all go perfect together!
I have a thing for file work.:) It makes me smile.

I can see why you'd want to keep it.
