Hey guys, looking for a little feedback on my first sebenza - lockup seems a little late. Is this something to be concerned with?

It looks fine, CRK's are known for their late lock up.
I've got several like that, they are older and have not moved.

Identical to my 21 Micarta. Came that way, and two years later is the same. Lots of use on this knife. The deep-lockup inspires confidence and is safer than sketchy early lock-ups.

Has anyone ever wear out a lock on one of Chris Reeve's framelocks?

There have been a few cases mentioned where CRK replaced the lock side, but they have been very few. Those that sit around opening and closing their knives continuously are going to be more prone to wearing them out then someone who just uses their knife.

Chris Reeve makes the best frame lock out there. That looks perfectly fine.

This thread has been very helpful for me. I recently bought a small Insingo with lock up that seemed late to me. It is well past the 50 percent Mark. I was concerned but that seems to be the norm so no worries.

Chris has always liked a latter lockup, that won't disengage accidently and has plenty of contact. I believe the official specs on the 21 are 50-70%, but I have seen a number(at least by eye) that are a little higher come out of the factory, and Chris has commented before that this is not a problem and they will not move. I personally like them around 50%, but it is not always possible to find them. If the lock bar hits the opposite scale(causing blade play) you have a problem, until then not. If you land up with a problem, they will take care of you.

I have some Regulars and 21s that have over 60% lock-up and they are absolutely fine. I actually prefer more than 50% lock-up myself... :D

My S30V "Pre Idaho" Sebenza 21 had an 80-85% lockup and it hasn't moved in 2 years. I've found that after a minor break in period the lockup settles and will stay there for a very long time.

I just got a Small 21 Wilson Combat that dates to 2010 per the numbers on the inside. Lockup is at about 80-85% like Nikkogi above. Later than any of my other CRKs. But it sounds like it shouldn't be a problem? Does this look OK?
