Hi...I have a cold steel voyager tango plain edge 4" model, 1/8" thick bade, AUS8 steel and made in japan.

I love this model, but the reason for this post is I would like to see other knives in this category that are comparable with quality to cs, or even in the hand-made area.

In general there aren't a lot of choices--at least that I can find.

Of course the voyager is a great knife but I wish there was an option for a high carbon or san mai steel (the stainless dulls way too quick).

I'm a little new to the forum, but was hoping to collect information in this thread on large tanto folders. If you've got one or links to one please share. (For some reason I'm not allowed to post my own picture(??))

Thanks!! :)

4" blade? The ZT400 is close at 3.75".

Benchmade has the 760 LFTi that's got an M4 steel blade with a 4" honest length. It's a beast, an expensive one too. The new Voyagers have tantos in the 4" and 5 1/2" range as well. Uh, CRKT M16's are around that mark, I'm sure there are more out there.

Strider RCC or RC if you can find them. Have a RCC 3/16" X 3 1/2" @ 8 1/4" OA. A little too much knife for my EDC liking.

That ZT0400 was the very first one that crossed my mind. Never had it, but I always liked the design.

CS Spartan I modded.

Thank you a bunch for the posts! I think my personal favorite of the listed ones is the Benchmade 760 LFTi. The $250 level is about what I'd like to spend at, all though I've seen some very nice slightly smaller damascus hand-made folders that start at that level. Its a tough decision.
