I finished two pretty wild folders today and I thought I would share a couple of pictures. They actually look a lot better in hand as the stone is translucent so you can see down into the layers below the surface.

The stone is Rhodochrosite which is a rather rare gemstone especially in pieces large enough for a knife.

Wow. Those are really striking.

I'm not a fan of pink, or of stone for a knife to be used much. But WOW! You sure know how to make a handle pop. Very very nice.

Great pair for Mother Daughter. Very nice work! I would not attempt to pronounce the gem stone name!

Bet that stuff was a bear to grind and yes it is a beautiful mineral.

Man that is nice. I can't say I'd want to carry a pink knife, but it still looks nice & great for the Wife or Daughter.

That is an eye catcher for sure! The fit looks good too!! I'm impressed. I wouldn't carry it, because I would be affraid of dropping it and breaking that pretty stone. In an exhibit case I could go for that.

Those two are heading for a display case but I have made many that are carried and used. Jade and hard agates and jaspers in a knife with bolsters actually are fairly durable.
