I just got these great pics in from Coop a few days ago and wanted to show this piece off! This was my last bowie completed in 2015 but I just got the sheath made and shipped to Jim per the client's instructions. This is a large bowie with a 12" blade of forged 1095 and a forged wrought iron D Guard. The handle is a beautiful piece of artifact walrus ivory that I got from Mark Knapp some time ago. This piece presented a special problem as the fire starter holes went all the way through and on both sides, so I covered them with fold formed copper inserts to match the fold formed copper ferrule, and there is a matching fold formed concho on the sheath. Thanks for the great pics Jim and the wonderful ivory Mark!!

That is just spectacular John - might just be my fave bowie of yours. Love what you did with the copper inserts in the fire holes of the artifact ivory handle. Awesome stuff.

John my friend, you are out of control.... In a very good way

I like everything about it! And the Images..... Fantastic!

Thanks everyone!!Roger, this is one of my favorites as well. This is my third rendition of a D Guard and it is by far my favorite out of the three!

That is really cool looking!

The copper is absolutely the PERFECT solution here - very inventive, and it looks killer

Blade looks "artifact-like" as well, and the pictures are excellent

Super job!

I'll echo everyone here. Very nice. You "nailed it" with the inlets in the ivory. WELL DONE!
