Hello everyone,

I build this knife as part of a trade for a Hay-Budden 167 pound anvil (built in 1923). This is a big knife for a big man (6'-4" 280 lbs.) that likes big toys. His daily driver is an F250 Disesl with a 12" lift and 44" tire.

The knife was made from a 1-1/2 diameter by 4-1/2" long 52100 bearing roller, that was forged down into bar stock. After forging the blade was finished via stock removal.

Specs:
Flat ground 52100 blade heat treated to a RC60
15-3/4" overall lenght
10-1/2" Guard to tip with a 10" cutting edge
0.200" Thick at the ricasso
1-7/8" at the widest point
416 Stainless guard, ferrule, and 3/16" pin with black paper micarta spacers
Stabilized Maple burl
8oz Hand tooled and dyed sheath

Thank guys!

Paul, We need to talk about getting together oone of these days. Will you be at the CKG show in October?

Fantastic!

I don't know the price on the anvil, but I can assure you the guy getting this will feel as if he has cheated you on the trade!

I like everything about it!

I like the fact that you went with a flat guard with a nice looking radius on the edges. Something that is sometimes overlooked on a flat guard (or not taken as far as I like on a user).

After a while of use, a guard can make or break a user if the corners have not been properly shaped!
