Just got this piece completely finished and would like to get some opinions on. I've been a maker for a few years and woul like to think my skills have improved a bit. Turned out very good but I did notice a few scratches at the choil I missed

7" X 3/16 1084 blade 12.5" overall finished to 600 grit
home stabilized maple burl handle w/ black liners
nickel silver pins, stainless thong tube
sheath was made by my good friend Chuck with appr. 20 deg. forward cant
and a blue lapis inlay, it rides really nice on the hip and distibrutes the weight very well.

With that slight recuve that would make a great camp knife or chopping blade! Love the handles too!

I think that's a solid sturdy workable knife design IMO :)

I like the handle design, with a guard built in. Looks like a very usable blade shape and grind

I've seen a few knifemaker's use the choil area you have. It allows easy access to the inner blade for sharpening, great idea.

Thanks for the great commonts guys. I took this piece to the N.E. Ohio chop in and abused it before final finish. it was tougher than me. I contoured the handle to remove

any pressure points and have a secure grip, i used it all day and never bothered my hand.

That is great looking. Love the blade shape, looks good for lots of uses, not just chopping. Love the handle material and the black liner.

I much prefer a knife that looks like it wants to be used to one that looks like it wants to be displayed. This one has a bit of both.
