Large CF Insingo Action Trouble, Need Help!

Hey Chris Reeve Crew, I'm having a problem with my Large 21 CF Insingo Sebenza that I just cannot seem to find a fix for that maybe someone has dealt with here already. It has been this way since I received it brand new from Knife Art and has taken a trip back to CRK to have it fixed, and gone through many many routine disassemblies and cleanings, all to no avail.

The issue is, the blade gets incredibly stiff to open randomly. Like stiff enough to wear it can barely be done with the thumb stud, and it will stay that way for a few open and close cycles and then loosen back up and be smooth as can be again, then after opening and closing a few more times, out of nowhere it will tighten back up to where it can barely be opened and closed. It had gotten to the point where it was consistently pretty tight and I sent it back to CRK thinking that the pivot bushing was out of spec, they sent it back a few days later on the note stating "bushing, blade and washers are in spec, made action as smooth as possible." And it was smooth for a few days and then back to the same odd behavior. Has anyone had this issue on any other Sebenzas? I've never had this on any full Ti Sebs, or the first CF I had. Just this one. I love this knife and I want it to work as designed. I haven't taken it down and reassembled since I got it back from CRK a few weeks ago, it is still as they sent it out.

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. To get this out of the way before anyone asks: Yes, it is assembled correctly per the instructions provided by CRK. Yes, I've tried loosening the screws and tightening the pivot down first. No, I have not altered any of the hardware in any way, shape or form.

Thanks guys, my baby needs help!!

Sometimes that can happen if the washers aren't aligned properly. I assemble from having the threaded stand offs through the lock scale. Then I put on the pivot and blade stop bearing, followed by the back spacer. Then I go back and carefully put on the bronze washer on the pivot. Then the blade. Carefully put in the large washer and then the opposite handle. Your left hand needs to be cradling the knife, using your fingers to support the stand offs. If you don't do this, it's easy for the washer to pop off.

Good luck.

Is it possible your fingers could be blocking the blade? If you are opening one handed, pressure on the blade and lock can make it seem tight to open.

Yea, check TripleT's suggestion. That would account for the inconsistency.

No, that can't be it. I've tried opening it multiple different way, I've had to go two handed on it to get it opened or closed a couple of times and still just as stiff. Also, I've never had this issue with any other of the 10 or so Sebenzas I've had, even the other Carbon Fiber one in the exact same configuration. Thanks for the suggestions.

Kinda sounds like the washer on the carbon side is getting hung up or is moving.
The washer typically doesn't move on the slab side, the blade is against the washer. When the blade moves, the washers stay stationary. This could account for why it gets difficult to open periodically.
The next time you take it down, see if there are any wear marks on the carbon slab. I think Gullwing was seeing his washer move on the CF he just got. There should be a thread about it.

Something is definitely binding. The only thing that comes to mind is the washers.

That's a good observation, thanks for that. It looks like the washer is moving on the CF Slab. I can see the holes on the washer on the CF side when opening and closing, and every few times, the washer will stick with the blade and ride on the CF side, and it would seem it is a little finicky on where the washer decides to rest and how smooth the action is. I'll investigate more on that
