Ok, so I ordered one from an Authorized CRK dealer. Lovingly removed my clip. And inserted insert but...it doesnt fit its too large by about a mm on one side. Also I was dismayed to find out the screw hole was not threaded so I had to grind the screw through the titanium. I spent about an hour filing it down to fit but it still looks poor and not a flush fit. It appears that the insert is also thicker at one end than the other? No I am no metal worker or making any judgements on CRK Quality because I Love the sebbie. I am just wondering did I get a bummer insert? Did I do something wrong like when I laid sod and put the green side down?:D any advice?

that's strange.

the fit is very tight, but a mm too large???

and on the one i have the screw slips nicely through the hole.:p

I have not had that happen before and I have about 4 large sebs with the insert. I wonder if a piece slipped through the cracks that needed some extra care?

I imagine those pictures will give Chris Reeve fits. That ain't how CRK rolls. I'm sure they'll make it right for you.

Ren - I'm sure you already thought of this, but did you try it backwards? I had something happen like that with my Umnumzaan.

The fit on my clips are very exact, a slight bit either way and it binds up like that. Try removing and carefully re-inserting it straight in.

I don't think that there are supposed to be threads on the insert, just like there aren't threads on the clip.

The insert I have fits just about perfectly so that doesn't look quite right to me. There is no thread on the insert but one should not have to force the screw through the piece.

The clip insert on my Seb isn't exactly flush with the scale (i.e. the insert is thicker than the clip hole is deep so that if I run my finger along the scale, it will catch on the edge of the clip insert) but size-wise it's a perfect fit.

Just a thought: Get your pocket clip and hold the insert up against the clip. They should line up...if they don't, you know you got a dud.

It is hard to see just how far off the measurement is. One of the replacement clips I ordered straight from CRK must have been half a hair different from the old clip, and to get it screwed in I had to start the screw with the clip above the insert, and kind of force it down as I turned the screw. But after being in there for a bit I can reinstall it just fine.

I had the same exact problem with my clip insert. It doesn't fit either. I never bothered correcting it. But I am pretty annoyed with it. Threw it in a box with my extra knife junk were it will stay
