Black phenolic laminate with blk/grey G10 carved handle

This was made for a BF member, his design. Was skeptical at first, but I really like the end result. Just thought I'd share.

that came out very nice, you did an outstanding job. I really like the lines of the handles, and all the curves. Must have been fun to grind!

damn nice job!!! What are the brownish color handle tubes??

I'm the guilty designer, and I think he did an amazing job! My usual obsession with backward-sweeping integral guards was catered to with only the barest minimum of teasing, and the final shape of the handle looks SO much better than the one I drew.

Oh yes, I requested the front talon hole (hopeless HOG that I am) so nobody jump on Coty as it's my fault. ;)

Thanks guys,

It was fun to grind, but only because I have a sm. wheel attachment on my new KMG. This thing kicks butt.

blgoode, those are Micarta tubes. I found them at McMaster Carr: http://www.mcmaster.com/#plastics/=4bk5qv

The XX grade garolite is paper based and shine up the best, IMO. They are not suitable to hold a handle together by themselves, but stand out on phenolic handles pretty well. You may have to ream the hole a little larger, as they come just slightly oversized (at least in .25").

Thanks for the info tito! I like how there sort up subdude. Great work all around.

Warren- you old backward guard guy you! Great to see you drawing up some patterns buddy.

Another fantastic creation from Tito. I'll be contacting you about another here real quick like Tito. After Turkey Day I think.

Thanks guys - if anybody knows, does this infringe on the Busse forward lanyard hole trademark? I only found out about this trademark from a knife I made a few weeks back (he called me). I thought it was the round choil/hole combination that was trademarked, so I re-designed the choil of this blade specifically because of all that. I tried searching for the information online, but no luck. I guess I can just email Jerry?

you can email Jerry and find out exactly what is covered. I have heard it is the front hole drilled in the guard that is specifically covered/protected.

Very nice looking knife too. I love the handle design, and the blade shape too.

This showed up today and feels amazing in the hand----I'm as happy as a poodle in shampoo! :)

Thanks everyone for the great comments, very cool - W, poodles like shampoo, right??

Of course! I was trying to think of an animal that began with "p" that could be happy in something that started with "sh" that wouldn't get me in trouble with the moderators. ;)
