Large D- Guard Bowie

Overall is 20". The blade is 14" X 2". At the backbrace it's 3/8" thick.
The blade is fordged from 1075. everything else is mild steel welded to the full tang.
The scales are Walnut burl. After I make a sheath, it's off to E-bay.

Here's some better pics. The subhilt is 1/8" thick.
I've always liked the look of a "backbraced" bowie but wanted one with a steel brace.
I like the metal to all match. So out came this.

I'll make this style sheath for it. The "backbrace" will be exposed.
I'll make it hang low and put a leg-tie on it also.
I should have it finished tomorrow. I'll post pics.
