Large Dagger in works

I started the large dagger that's been bugging me to be made.

It's 1065 steel with a wavy hint(so far), of a hamon running down the center of the blade. The block of Ebony above the blade will be used on the frame of 416 stainless. The guard design is still up in the air. Cant decide on using laminated steel or a mono steel. Will end up being around 18" OAL. The piece that looks like a guard is just the file guide.

Daggers are not my favorite style by any means, but I bet this one is going to look great.

Thanks for all the comments and other inquiries about the dagger.

Right now in the process of designing the guard.

I'm finding it bit difficult to settle on a design because of they way the guard affects the whole "Look" of a dagger. Hopefully something will come to me overnight.

The hamon is going to be quite beautiful. It looks like fire is being blown from the ricasso towards the tip. I wish I could take better pictures.....

Maybe a dance out in the full moon this Saturday might help
