Large fighter from rasp

A family member gave me a huge Nicholson wood rasp, and this is what I came up with. The patterns left on knives like these are very nice.

steel - Nicholson wood rasp, 1/4" thick
blade - 8 7/8" cutting edge, 15 3/4" OAL
handle - Texas Ebony, 6 1/2"
pin - stainless steel
guard - nickel silver

I know what you mean, and I did. Before I put the handle on, I wrapped the tang with tape and an old t-shirt and hacked away!

Thanks again for the compliments. I believe I'm going to give the knife to the uncle who gave me the rasp to begin with.
