large fixed blade carry

I have a new 5" fixed blade that I cannot put down. I didn't buy it to carry but I'm trying to find a way to make it work as an EDC. Does anyone EDC a fixed blade of 5" or more? If so show me how you do that?

Well, I put mine in a sheath, and stick it in my "purse". Which for me is a small Deuter pack. I take it with me everywhere I go. Then again, I do have a desk job, and it just sits by my feet. If you have a job where you are moving around a lot, it may be more difficult.

In a high riding kydex sheath, a big knife shouldn't draw nearly as much attention as a sheath hanging down your leg.

Make a high riding pancake style belt sheath so that the point doesn't hang any lower than a folder pouch sheath, and keeps the knife close to the body. These are comfortable to wear and don't get in the way, and don't leave much of a print.

Ive got a tek lok on the kydex sheath for this knife. Wondering if mounting the blade horizontally and carrying small of back would work. I know sitting would be most uncomfortable like this though.

lol @ NikkiR's comment. I can barely get by carrying a neck knife comfortably sometimes. Guess I wear too many tightfitting shirts :P

I would suggest a bag or something like NikkiR said. If someone saw a knife like that on your person it would be pretty threatening.

I do not carry a fixed knife: only my katana in a sheath attached to my back. Most of it is hidden under my black roomy leather coat with only a handle protruding behind my head, so people seldom pay any attention (that is when I walk dark streets on a moonless night). Sometimes one or two would take a notice: but somehow they would never bother me with their questions or unwelcome comments. I have observed that when I carry smaller arm I tend to meet people who are more annoying and have less regard for my privacy!

P.S. So my advice: get yourself bigger knife and make sure everybody can see it when you carry it around! That may save you some possible unpleasantness of dealing with people who hold something against small knives and concealed carry.

Yeah, I would know...because I am a wearer of skinny jeans and other fine ladies garments....makes carrying a large folder a bitch. So yeah, does this knife make my butt look big? What about my light and bilfold? SUPER fashionable. I'm pretty sure my co-workers think I'm crazy. I made the mistake of showing my BK2 to our receptionist the other day....she now thinks I'm a serial killer.
