I know, I have to move on from the "integrals with green canvas and a hamon" stage, I keep getting requests for them though, this one is a paring knife to match the 10.5" chef I made in the same style for a customer.

This is the second knife I've forged down from 2-5/8" Hanson W2 stock. I like it. I'll like it a lot better when I get my LG 50# hammer running, though.

What do you all think?

I like it very much, When are you going to make me one? Nice Harmon and shape. how does it cut? Martin

That's really quite classy. I bet that's fun getting the scales just right with the integral hilt. Beautiful work.

I will say you are good with a hammer. Great job.

Very nice work Salem. I really enjoy your style, and your execution is always spot on. I say keep making the integrals!

Wow, very nice. Integral parer with hamon and tapered tang, now thats something you don't see everyday.

Thanks a bunch, guys. I'm glad you like it. Martin, it's a full flat grind down to about 3/8" from the edge, at which point it starts being mildly convex. The flat grind left the edge about 0.025" thick, the convex secondary grind brought the edge down to about 0.010". Then it got sharpened and stropped, resulting in a very sharp edge. The mild convexity should aid paring action, making it easier not to dig into item being peeled.

This baby cuts like a dream and yes Salem again is forced to make a green micarta integral, I think I am done with that line though
I have two perfect knives that will be passed down to my children
Let me say that the entire process has been a pleasure, from the design to the execution it has been flawless, due to Salem.
Thank you my friend and keep it up

Very elegant knife. That fitting took some time - very well done.

So when are you gonna make one with a "pill buster" type handle? I don't know any other term for it except what its called on slip joint doctors knives. A thin flat cap on the end of the hande. I think it would look killer in that combo.

As usual, your work is exceptional!

Wow, I didn't see these last replies, so I'll respond real quick- thanks Ed, monkeyman, Xander. I appreciate your remarks! Xander, that's an interesting thought- the pill buster sounds like it would logically have to be integral to the end of the tang, an added challenge but doable. One of these days I'll get a milling machine to make this stuff go faster... forge first, then clean up with the ball end.

Salem, your work is amazing. The way the integral bolster flows into the blade and how the scales are seamless where the two meet is absolutely perfect. Then again, I think thats what everyone expects out of you at this point. Perfection. I really like it.
